Good Friday Services 8am & 10am
Today, Palm Sunday, remembers an exciting event. Jesus entered
the Kings city before thousands waving palm branches,
singing rousing warcrys, and cheering their hero king. No doubt
it was intoxicating: the masses electrified by the moment. No one
could be more popular.
The next day in the temple, filled with rage, yelling at the top
of his voice, he damned what he saw. Violently, to everyones
horror, whip in hand, he turned church into chaos. Jesus
plummeted from favoured heights to outcast. By condemning what he
saw, Jesus sealed solid his fate. In five days he was murdered.
The very same crowds again cheering, but this time with ridicule
as he died in agony.
A familiar story. But do you remember it?
Next Friday, ironically, Australia stops to holiday on what should
be the most holy day. They dont remember. But
surely we do! Sadly, no. Too many Christians enjoy the holiday but
forget the Holy day. Next Friday, before you holiday, I invite you
to holy day. At both 8am and 10am services I will reflect
on the single most terrifying and yet terrific event in History.
Do join me
lest we forget!
In service of the King of Kings,
Richard James
