women's ministry
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge
and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best
and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit
of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and
praise of God." Philippians 1:9-11
women's ministry exists to help women know, serve and proclaim Christ
this happens in three ways:
know Christ
Providing opportunities beyond the Sunday Services for women to grow in
their knowledge and love of the Lord Jesus. These include events, one-on-one
discipleship, bible study, and training seminars. Women are also encouraged
to attend the Sydney-wide EQUIP
Women's Conference (in May) and the Women's
Katoomba Convention (in September).
serve Christ
Providing opportunities for women to form godly relationships which spur
one another on to love and good works. This happens through women's dinners,
prayer triplets, as well as women being involved in co-ordinating church-wide
activities.
proclaim Christ
Providing opportunities to equip women for sharing the gospel with non-Christian
women, and to encourage/teach new Christian women. We believe that women
have a great role to play in the furthering of God's Kingdom and encourage
women to use their God-given gifts for that task. There are training opportunities
offered through the Women at St Thomas' ministry to help women achieve
this.
